This is a project that is near and dear to my heart. My son lives in Ukraine and when we first visited him we were stunned at the condition of the orphanages in Ukraine. The children are innocent victims of a corrupt govenrnment. I was at an orphanage in Ternopil in October and the temperature was in the 30s in the daytime. There was no heat at the orphanage so I asked the director what the problem was. She pointed to the boiler and said it was broken, I asked her how much it would cost to repair, she told me about $1500.00 USD, to which I replied go ahead and get it repaired while I am here and I will pay for it. She told me that it would not be a good idea to do that, and I asked her why. She said that if the heat was working in the building then they would be evicted because a building with heat would be worth more than one without.
